Tesla’s electric vehicles are generally considered luxury or premium, but for some, they don’t offer enough customization. Whether it’s inside, outside, or somewhere in between, aftermarket mods may (or may not) inform future design cues from the automaker.

A recent video on TikTok shared last month depicts a seriously upgraded Tesla Model 3 built by a user @tesla_wall (Via slash gear — Watch the clip at the bottom of this blog post) The upgrade features LED lighting trim around the center console, dashboard and door handles, and the video shows the impressive process that the user went through to modify the vehicle.

The video begins with the user removing the carbon fiber trim around the center console and around the dash and replacing each of them with RGB LED trim. Then, the door and window panels are removed and the user places an LED liner around the handle. Finally, the user removes the center touchscreen, speaker and panel under the steering wheel and replaces each of them with LED lights.

The result is a beautiful white LED entry through the handlebar into the vehicle, and an aesthetically pleasing display of synchronized RGB color once inside. As good as it looks, it Complicated mode is probably best left to professionals or people who really know what they are doing.

Still, this unique change to the Model 3 interior joins a wide array of aftermarket mods that many believe can help upgrade their Teslas—whether for purely aesthetic reasons. be of or strictly related to performance.

For example, a collaboration between Orbis and NASA brought a new periodic wave disc brake rotor to the Tesla Model S Plaid, and manufacturers hope to bring it to the US market as soon as possible. motortrend, As far as performance is concerned, NASA says the brake discs offer a “lightweight brake rotor design with high heat dissipation using innovative surface cooling technology.”

Meanwhile, a Michigan startup recently reimagined Our Next Energy (ONE) Model S with 752-mil battery pack as reported by car and driver Last month. The option is yet another example of the latter parts that people are putting in exchange for options directly related to Tesla, and came just weeks before CEO Elon Musk commented on building a long-range EV.

From Tesla white upholstery To its extent, the automaker can certainly make some improvements despite having the largest customer base of any EV company — and knowing Tesla, some aftermarket parts could pave the way for more such improvements down the road. .
