Tesla critics are considering a lawsuit against Naboo and Green League Giga Berlin

The Tesla Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg has already completed its inaugural Model Y delivery with CEO Elon Musk, but critics of the facility have no intention of giving up just yet. More recently, environmental groups Naboo and the Green League have said they are considering filing a lawsuit against Giga Berlin.

Naboo and Green League have objected to Tesla Giga Berlin’s approval, though they want to check the facility’s documents first. According to Naboo’s Kristian Schröder, the group is seeking access to Tesla’s application documents for an electric vehicle production facility.

Two environmental groups have accused the state office for the environment of “delaying or refusing” the submission of application documents. The group does not believe that they are up to date with Giga Berlin’s applications. As a result, inspections of groups of electric vehicle manufacturers’ files must be enforced using appeals.

Naboo and Green League have been a thorn in Tesla’s side throughout the Gigafactory Berlin construction and permitting process, with both organizations continually calling for a halt to the facility’s construction. Groups have over the years targeted many aspects of Gigafactory Berlin, from their water requirements to reporting incidents at an electric vehicle production facility, to name but a few.

While Gigafactory Berlin is now allowed to begin deliveries of the Made-in-Germany Model Y to customers, there is still a long way to go before the facility is fully developed. Tesla will still have to hire a significant number of employees for the site, and it will also have to complete other facilities at the complex such as a battery plant, which will likely produce 4,680 cells compared to the made-in-Texas model. will be used for why

During his speech at Giga Berlin’s first Model Y delivery event, CEO Elon Musk indicated that the facility would not only produce cars. Tesla will also build energy storage equipment on site. “We will also make storage devices. This will be of great importance to enable the storage of renewable energy. We are confident that the world can transition to a sustainable energy future with a combination of solar, wind, storage and electric cars,” Musk said.

Tesla’s mass layoffs reached the Autopilot team in San Mateo. Autopilot workers have started posting the news on LinkedIn.  People familiar with the matter told  Bloomberg  that Tesla laid off about 200 Autopilot workers from its San Mateo office. San Mateo had around 350 employees before the recent layoffs. Tesla transferred some of the San Mateo staff to a nearby facility in previous weeks.  The Autopilot team in San Mateo worked on customer vehicle data, specifically data labeling, for Tesla’s autonomous driver assistance features. West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin blasted a potential expansion of the electric vehicle (EV) tax credit on Thursday, while also calling for the development of the hydrogen sector to decarbonize the transportation industry.
