Tesla's Elon Musk teases key excerpts from Master Plan Part 3 — it's a lot more ambitious
It appears that Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s “Master Plan Part 3” will be his most ambitious yet. This time around, the CEO’s master plan won’t just focus on Tesla’s capabilities as a company. Musk’s other ventures, such as SpaceX and The Boring Company, will also play a role in the CEO’s third grand vision.
Musk recently shared an outline of his Master Plan Part 3 on Twitter, noting that the main Tesla theme of the new initiative includes getting the electric vehicle and energy storage company to “extreme size.” Musk also specifically mentioned the company’s AI projects, alluding to Tesla’s idea of becoming a company focused on artificial intelligence.
More importantly, Musk also said that Master Plan Part 3 will have sections about SpaceX and The Boring Company. The CEO didn’t elaborate on the topic, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Musk’s new master plan outlines how each of his companies can work together toward a unified goal.
“The main Tesla topics will be scaled to the extreme size that is needed to move humanity away from fossil fuels and AI. But I will also include sections about SpaceX, Tesla and The Boring Company,” Musk said. wrote, This led to speculation that Musk may be exploring the idea of setting up a parent company for his primary ventures.
Elon Musk had previously responded positively to the idea of creating a holding company for his various projects, with the CEO saying back in December 2020 that a parent company to Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink and The Boring Company was a “good idea”. In a way, an umbrella company for Musk’s ventures makes sense, given that they are all designed to advance humanity.
Musk’s third master plan comes at a time when Tesla has already matured into a veteran electric vehicle maker, dominating the market with its premium EVs. Interestingly, the Master Plan Part 3 is also coming at a time when even the Master Plan Part Dex is not fully completed. The master plan was published in Part Deux 2016, and it outlined plans for the company to enter all vehicle segments, ramp up solar roof installation, and deploy autonomous driving solutions.
As of yet, Tesla has not started deliveries of its Semi and Cybertruck, and the company has yet to launch vehicles in other segments such as vans. Solar roof installations have also proved more challenging than expected, and autonomous driving has proven itself extremely elusive. Tesla is making progress on each of Musk’s goals outlined in the Master Plan Part Dex, but it will still take some time to fully accomplish them.
